Amazing Health benefits and risk of Egg



 Egg is an oval object with a thin hard shell, produced by a female bird containing a young bird or formation of a young bird.


            There are different kinds of Eggs from different species like reptiles, birds, amphibians, and fish. The bird and reptiles eggs are known to be oval and have a thin hard protective shell, albumen (egg white) and vitallus(egg yolk).
      The most popular choice of egg among human is the chicken, quail, duck, roe, and caviar but chicken egg is the most consumed of them all and it will be our basis of discussion here.
      Health wise, the egg contains a particular percentage of protein, minerals, and vitamins but it also contains harmful cholesterol and fat and is also connected to some health issues like contamination, allergy, and cardiovascular risk.



                  Health benefits  of egg

*Proteins: The presence of protein content in egg is perhaps one of the major nutritional advantage of egg.
      Egg contains complete protein  and this means that this protein provide the whole amino acid needed for survival. These amino acids are used by the body to maintain ones tissues and support the function of the brain.

*Vitamins and minerals:  
Eating eggs boosts ones intake of choline, A vitamin very important for the functioning of the brain. Each egg is said to contain about 147mg(milligram) of choline and this is about 27% of the expected or recommended daily intake for men or 35% for women, selenium is also present in egg and this is  an important mineral that aid in the functioning of thyroid. Each egg contains 28% of the required  daily intake of selenium. Egg also contains other vitamins like vitamin A, thiamine(B1), Riboflavin(B2), pantothenic acid(B5), folate(B9),vitamin B12, choline, vitamin D and vitamin E.

                  Health Risks of Egg

*Cholesterol and Fats: Over half of the calories gotten from egg comes from the yolk, 50grams of fat. A lot of people respond poorly to dietary cholesterol, for example, when some people eat food containing high level of cholesterol, they notice an increase in their blood cholesterol, so it is advised that responders to cholesterol should avoid eating eggs as high blood cholesterol can put you to the risk of developing a heart disease.

*Allergy: Study has shown that infants commonly ansd easily develop allergies to eggs. If exposure is maximized, infants will find it difficult to grow out of this allergy as a child. There are less allergic reaction against egg yolk than against egg white that boasts of more allergic reaction.

Cholesterol responders should stay away from eggs, as it can cause more harm than good to their health.
