The Ministry of Defense Advisors (MoDA) program recruits, trains, and deploys highly qualified senior DoD civilians in support of ongoing efforts to build capacity and forge lasting relationships with foreign partners. Multiple opportunities are available to fill new critical needs for the Resolute Support Mission and other global security cooperation efforts.
Extensive high-level experience is crucial, but what makes this program vital to the success of our overseas missions are the interpersonal and communications skills for which we search. Our intensive two-month training program provides a targeted methodology with which you will build a relationship with your counterparts. You will be given the historical and cultural background, introduced to the language, and other taught advisor skills by world class instructors, native speakers, and top advisors to U.S. and coalition partners. Your own experience, technical skills and education will then come together in a final exercise where you will negotiate a series of scenario-based vignettes using native-speaking role players.
It takes confidence to knowingly work yourself out of a job, and that is exactly what our advisors do. MoDA deployments are a unique opportunity for DoD civilians to directly support vital operations overseas and help partner nations build their own capabilities.
