Robin van Persie was stopped by police on his way to the Manchester
United training ground on suspicion of over speeding and driving under
the influence of alcohol.
The Dutchman was driving on the M60 in his Range Rover, when he was
pulled over by Greater Manchester Police.
He was spoken to by a female officer, before being let on his way with
just a ticket and a warning probably based on self recognition to join
the rest of his United team-mates.
Van Persie scored from the penalty spot in the Red Devils' 3-1 victory
over Burnley on Wednesday evening.
However, he is a major doubt for their fifth round FA Cup tie with
Preston at Deepdale on Monday night.
