Description:
SQL Database Administrator will be supporting multiple databases that host various patient information systems and insurance payment system in a HIPAA regulated environment. The ideal candidate will be able to identify possible issues or bottlenecks, recommend remedies, set up scheduled backup and scheduled maintenance tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:.
.Develop/run SQL diagnostic, SQL Performance Tools and any other scripts to identify bottlenecks, without interrupting the daily operation of the system.
.Analyze the architecture of the current SQL database and upcoming planned software upgrades of application software requiring concurrent upgrade from our current SQL 2000/2005 to SQL 2008
Use SQL profiler, fine tune advisor and DMV to check and resolve database issues.
Plan and manage migration from current applications running on 2000/2005 SQL to 2008 version of SQL Server in a clustered “fail safe” environment.
Set up scripts and/or stored procedures to collect specific SQL errors, missing indexes, unused indexes, etc., in a desktop report format.
Interface with software vendors for installation, troubleshooting and possible solutions to performance bottlenecks.
Identify according to our support contract with the vendor, which issues should be the responsibility of the vendor and which issues should be addressed by the client.
Migration from in-house hosting and disaster recovery sites to managed hosting balanced between multiple ISPs for high availability.
Present performance findings to the IT Manager and Electronic Health Records Department Manager on a regular basis with enhanced performance recommendations and/or project details to solve issues related to performance bottlenecks.
Assist Network Administrator in disaster recovery and back up procedures.
Create and monitor SQL jobs across various databases and servers. Respond to alerts and resolve issues timely.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1 year experience in database maintenance, back-up, store procedures, SQL scripting, high-availability, performance tuning, disaster recovery and future architecture expansion.
Understanding of SSIS and other SQL based reporting systems.
1 year experience with Server 2003/2008/2012.
1 Year experience with clustered SQL Servers.
Very strong customer service and presentation skills.
Must be able to perform in an independent manner.
Must be able to interact effectively in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers and subject matter experts.
The following qualifications are preferred – a plus if you have them!
Proven experience with monitoring and maintaining SQL databases.
Knowledge of C#, .NET, and VB scripting.
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and documentation skills.
Knowledge of health care business and care delivery processes.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of NextGen EPM/EHR and/or EZCap systems from database perspective.
Familiar with other databases besides MS SQL is a plus.
Experience with VMWare.
Experience with Citrix.
Familiar with HIPAA standards.
